Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble presents Spring Kaleidoscope, premiering June 9, 2024, in Winnipeg.
ABOUT THE SHOW
To celebrate 45 years of Troyanda, we present a collection of new dances paired with timeless classics, including the return of Troyanda’s Classic Hopak!
Act I opens with Spring Kaleidoscope, a new Carpathian Suite that takes inspiration from various Ukrainian poets and incorporates music by the talented and effervescent composers Mykola Lysenko and Myroslav Skoryk. The piece showcases themes of youth, nature, love, and light-hearted entertainment, capturing the timeless essence of Ukrainian art and song through dance. We are delighted to work once again with Liudmyla Tereschenko (Triptych 2022) and welcome Liudmyla Prysiazhniuk as we bring Spring Kaleidoscope to life.
Act II showcases a variety of repertoire, and we are thrilled to welcome our esteemed Alumni and brand new Tsvit dancers to the stage. We join together to celebrate the legacy and impact of Troyanda as we journey toward the return of Classic Hopak.
There are two opportunities to see this production in Winnipeg: Sunday, June 9, at 3 p.m. or 7 p.m. at the Tom Hendry Warehouse Theatre (140 Rupert Avenue).
