Tsvit
Tsvit creates a unique opportunity for emerging young artists in Manitoba to increase their Ukrainian dance experience through rehearsals and performances.
BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 2023
Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble (Winnipeg, MB) is excited to introduce a new program, Tsvit (meaning bloom in Ukrainian). This unique bridging program exists as an opportunity for emerging young artists to increase their Ukrainian dance experience through rehearsals and performances while remaining involved with their current dance schools.
Tsvit dancers train Sunday afternoons in Winnipeg from September to April in the areas of Ukrainian, ballet, and character dance. They are given the opportunity to participate in the Manitoba Ukrainian Dance Festival and perform throughout the community. Dancers are invited to rehearse with Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble on a monthly basis. Tsvit dancers will have the opportunity to learn from Troyanda's artistic staff, Jenn and Paul Doroniuk, as well as other talented, highly trained faculty members.
Troyanda will host auditions for Tsvit in the spring of each year for the following season. Auditions for Fall 2023 will be held on Friday, April 21 at 6:30 pm.
To become a part of Tsvit, dancers must be between 12 and 18 years old and have previous dance experience. While experience in Ukrainian dance is considered an asset, a background in a variety of dance styles will be considered.
AIMS & OBJECTIVES
Dancers in Tsvit have the opportunity to learn and perform original choreographic works and Troyanda Ukrainian Dance Ensemble’s current and past repertoire. Learning the Ensemble’s repertoire is a unique and challenging opportunity and gives dancers an advantage to be ahead of the learning curve if they choose to audition for the ensemble in the future.
